When Heather and I first moved to Portland, Oregon in June of 2017, we were determined to see everything we could possibly see. First on our list: waterfalls. Our friends took us to Latourell Falls first because it’s a short hike. It’s located along the Columbia River Gorge, and at certain locations the lower part of the waterfall is visible from the road. The entire loop of the hike is only 2.4 miles., though you get to the waterfall much quicker than that.
It’s absolutely beautiful, so we were extremely excited when photographer Chelsey Fabrizio suggested we shoot in this location. Chelsey lives in Utah, however, she was visiting Portland for the weekend with her husband and was able to squeeze in a photo session with us. We adored shooting with Chelsey. It’s really loud underneath the waterfall, making it hard to hear instructions from a photographer. Because of this, Chelsey brought her husband with her and acted out poses she wanted us to do from afar. Brilliant!
The rocks can be slippery, so I would suggest wearing better shoes than what I wore for these photos. We were also freezing in these pictures, being that it was December, so I’m thrilled with how they turned out. If you end up visiting Latourell Falls, comment below and let us know! Happy Hiking!
